My 17″ Laptop was in a computer bag on a shelf and fell about 3 to 4 feet. I turned it on and the internet?
came up, pulled up something on youtube, and installed new systems updates. Wouldn’t I know at this point if it was damaged in any way or is there something else I need to check?
@ the guy who aswered first: The hard drive will not have been busted is the computer was on, I have worked with many hard drives, all have a shock rating of 300G tolerance before busting, a 1 metre drop is no where near that.
If the computer is functional as it was before the fall it should be OK, if you are out of warranty best to Pull apart to inspect for any damage/ loose stuff. But nothing should have happened, in a padded bag only from 1 meter.
