how do i switch to the DVD Drive on a Laptop?

we have a “dual” drive on our Toshiba Laptop. how do you switch back and forth from CD to DVD? Its currently set on CD only.
Its a toshiba satellite and we have to manually switch from CD to DVD. It does not detect automatically. I did it once, no problem. But now I cant figure it out again.
