Today I wanted to share with you some tips on preventing your emails from going to spam heaven..

 

 

A spam score is a formula to evaluate whether an e-mail is a spam or not.  A score (by default) of 5.0 is enough to mark your email as “spam.” The rules used in assigning spam scores change and update frequently.

If your email piece is flagged as spam, it won’t make it to your recipient. Even worse, it could be in violation of CAN-SPAM regs. To keep away from the spam filter and being sent to the spam folder, make sure your header and subject line are exact. Include a valid opt-out technique. Certain words are far more likely to set off a spam designation you need to know what they are so you can steer clear of them.

  • includes ‘success’

  • includes ‘hello@’

Characters and Words to Avoid In Your Email Subject:

  • Subject is made up of ‘!’ & ‘?’
  • Subject matter consists of ‘!’ & ‘free’
  • Subject matter is made up of ‘??’

Words To Avoid In the Body Of Your Email:

  • ‘money back’
  • ‘cards accepted’
  • ‘extra income’
  • ’000′ & ‘!!’
  •  ’?’
  • ‘Dear friend’
  • ‘for no cost?’
  • ‘for totally free!’
  • ‘Guarantee’
  • ‘satisfaction’ or ‘absolute’
  • ‘more info’ & ‘visit’
  • ‘special promotion’
  • ‘order today’
  • ‘order now!’
  • ‘money-back guarantee’
  • ’100% satisfied’
  • ‘mlm’

 

Don’t type in all capital this indicates shouting which is rude and avoid  too many attachments. One of the dangers of spam is they can contain  virulent attachments; uploading and hosting images and creating links instead of  attachments will not only avoid spam rules, it will also help your emails to  load faster.
