Have you suffered from the google slap?
What exactly is the google slap?
A Google Slap is when your ad and associated landing pages are determined to be of such poor quality according to the google quality score that google will remove your ad by lowering its position and raising the bid price so your advertising is ineffective.
Google is penalizing people who use landing pages with little content.
Why is google doing this? Because they want to protect their customers and provide them with good content
Basically if you want to continue to advertise on google adwords you want to Avoid the Slap.
Here are some tips and guidelines to follow to help keep you from getting slapped.
1. Play by the rules: You must play by the google adwords rules at all times because if you deviate from what Google tells you that you can do you will eventually have your campaign slapped and you will lose your traffic.
2. Use a Blog: Provide a landing page, packed with relevant and unique content of benefit to the visitor.
You can do this by building your on a blogging platform such as WordPress.org which is fully hosted by yourself.
Linking your ad to a single page site just is not acceptable anymore.
It doesn’t matter how relevant that one page is google does not see your site as being helpful to the visitor.
Ideally your site should contain at least 10 pages of unique content plus a About Us/ Contact Us page. This can be easily set up with a wordpress blog.
Engaging pages for the visitor should contain a substantial amount of text and include images and embedded videos to keep the visitor on the page longer. Be sure to include your keyword in the image name and captions.
3. Make sure your site has a Google Sitemap. This is easily loaded as a plugin on your site
4. Use the right keywords and meta tags on your site.
The content on the landing page should be focused on the keywords you are bidding on.
You should have separate landing pages for different ad groups.
You want to make sure that when someone types a keyword in google the ad exactly matches the keyword they are typing in and when they arrive at your site they have found what they are searching for.
5. Generic Domain Name: Your domain name for your site should be generic and not salesy.
Also a aged domain name is a big secret as if it is old they will trust you more and you will get more traffic. Go find an old domain name and see what it does for you.
6. Convert Affiliate links into redirects: If you have affiliate links attach these to a redirect/resources page as it is best not to have affiliate offers posted all over your site.
Avoid the temptation to send visitors through to your affiliate link as soon as possible.
Links directly from your landing page to an external affiliate site are not viewed by Google as a quality user experience.
7 . Opt in Form: Include an opt-in form in a visible location which entices visitors to enter their email address in exchange for a valuable offer.
You need to be clear on what the offer or information is that you will be providing.
8. High Ranking Backlinks: Have high ranking back links attached to your site from sites like Facebook and Twitter.
9. Outbound links: Have outgoing links to high PageRank sites and high profile articles on your site .
These can be put in the footer so you minimize the risk of traffic leaking away.
10. Don’t talk about money on your site: Money claims are a fast way to get Google slapped.
11. Stop Bullet Points: Stop using bullet points and replace them with full text sentences and paragraphs
12. Email Newsletters: Add email newsletters as content pages on the site which are linked via the sitemap
In summary if you truly want to avoid the Google slap just give Google what they want.
Provide them with good solid content which is not a sales pitch or affiliate offer and attach high profile inbound and outbound links, along with having a website that is easy to navigate.
Google wants when a visitor lands at your website that they are able to find out valuable and helpful information. If you give your prospect and Google what they are looking for, Google will be your friend.

I think your blog post was probably a solid start to a potential series of write ups about this topic. So many users act like they know what they are writing about when it comes to this area and generally, hardly anyone actually get it. You seem to really dominate it though, so I think you should run with it. Thanks a lot!
